Image
Dear Readers~     We have reached the second to last game of the 2025 NCAA Division 1 Women's Indoor Volleyball season. This semifinal has the Kentucky Wildcats taking on the Wisconsin Badgers in Kansas City, Missouri. With this being the second to last game of the season, the pressure is on for both teams since if you lose, your season is over but if you win, you play in the national championships for a chance at the national title. With today's game taking place on December 18th at the T Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, let's see who will come out on top: Wisconsin, only the third team all season to beat Texas (who they beat in the previous game), or Kentucky, the second-best team in the nation (behind only Nebraska)? Let's find out in today's game.      In order to get here, each team had to have won a total of 4 consecutive games that made up the first, second, and third rounds, along with the regional finals. In order to get here, Kentucky (ranked #1...

Dear Readers~     We have reached Semifinal #1 of the 2025 NCAA Division 1 National Championships of Women's Indoor Volleyball. This means this is the third to last game of the season I will cover. Today's game has the Pittsburg Panthers from Pennsylvania taking on the Texas A&M Aggies from Texas. Both semifinal games and the championships took place at the T Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Today's game took place on December 18th at 5:30pm Central Time. In the regional finals, Pittsburg beat Purdue 3-1 while A&M beat Nebraska 3-2. Who do you think will come out on top in today's game: the only team to beat Nebraska in all of 2025 or one of the best teams all season? With A&M having a record of 28-4 and Pittsburg with a record of 30-4, who do you think will get their 5th and final loss as well as who will win and go on to play in the national championships a few days later? Let's find out in today's game.        If you've been following ...

Dear Readers~     There is another quarterfinals game of the 2025 NCAA Division 1 Women's Indoor Volleyball season that I wanted to cover. Today's game has Nebraska hosting Texas A&M in Lincoln, Nebraska to see who can move on to the semifinals in Kansas City, Missouri the following weekend. We've previously discussed Texas A&M beating TCU in College Station for round 2 and Nebraska beating Kansas in Lincoln for round 3. Now that we've reached the point where the winner moves on to Kansas City and gets to play at the T Mobile Center, who do you think will come out on top: the Cornhuskers from Nebraska or the Aggies from A&M? Let's get into today's game to find out.     Let's see who's coaching A&M and Nebraska. Up first, is the visiting Aggies.  They are coached by Jamie Morrison as Head Coach, Lindsey Walton as Associate Head Coach, Jen Woods as the other Associate Head Coach, Jeff Fiorenza as the General Manager and Assistant Coach, Joe...

Creighton @ Kentucky 12-13-2025 WVB Quarterfinals

Dear Readers~     It's now time for the quarterfinals of the 2025 NCAA Division 1 National Championships as the teams work their way to the national semifinals and finals that took place at the T Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri on December 18th and 21st. The first round had Cal Poly playing BYU in Los Angeles, the second round had Texas A&M hosting TCU in College Station, and the third round had Nebraska hosting Kansas in Lincoln. For the quarterfinals, the Kentucky Wildcats are hosting the Creighton Blue Jays in Lexington to see if they can extend their winning streak. With Creighton based in Omaha, Nebraska and having a big rivalry with the #1 team in the nation, Nebraska, can they take down the host (and #2 in the nation), Kentucky? Let's get into today's game to see what happens in their only meetup of the 2025 season.     Some of the teams in this quadrant of the bracket (cleverly named "the Kentucky quadrant") included these two along with other t...

Kansas @ Nebraska 12-12-2025 WVB Third Round

Image
Dear Readers~     It's now time for the third round (also called the Regional Semifinals) of the 2025 NCAA Division 1 National Championships as I cover so many people's favorite (or least favorite) team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, as they take on the Kansas Jayhawks. As someone from Kansas, I grew up around Kansas (and Kansas State, who Nebraska beat in the second round) fans and a few Nebraska fans so that's how this game was chosen. By this point in the bracket, there have been a total of 48 teams eliminated compared to the 64 teams that were on the bracket for the first round. Nebraska beat LIU in the first round then Kansas State in the second round while Kansas beat High Point in the first round and Miami in the second round. This matchup took place at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, so remember that for next week's game. In this "Nebraska quadrant" of the bracket, the only two teams remaining for the other third round are Texas A&M taking on...

TCU @ Texas A&M 12-6-2025 WVB Second Round

Image
Dear Readers~     The 2025 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Volleyball national championships are underway. Last time the first-round game was covered so this time the second-round game will have its turn. For the second-round game I chose #3 Texas A&M hosting #6 TCU in College Station, Texas at the Reed Arena. The game took place on December 6th at 7pm Central Time. A few teams from this quadrant of the bracket include Kansas, Miami, Louisville, and of course, the top team in the nation, Nebraska (some refer to this as the "Nebraska Quadrant"). I did cover a previous match up back in September between TCU and A&M if you remember that game but I did cover A&M a little more recently when they were the first team to beat Texas (who is in a different quadrant for the tournament) but this will only be the second time I've covered TCU this season.      Let's take a look at how the teams did in the first round that brough them here. TCU beat SFA (Stephen F Austin) 3...

Cal Poly vs BYU 12-4-2025 WVB First Round

Image
Dear Readers~     Welcome to the first blog covering the 2025 Division 1 NCAA Women's Indoor Volleyball National Championships. The bracket includes a total of 64 teams to see who can make it to Kansas City and become the 2025 National Champions. For the first round I will be covering an unranked Cal Poly (California Polytechnic, based in San Luis Obispo, California) as they played #5 BYU (Brigham Young University, based in Provo, Utah) at USC's (University of Southern California) Galen Center in Los Angeles, California on December 4th at 5pm Pacific Time. BYU is ranked #5 in their quadrant of the bracket while Cal Poly is unranked. A few teams from their quadrant you've probably heard of (some I've covered earlier in the season) include UCLA, Princeton, Creighton, Tennessee, host USC, and #2 in the nation, Kentucky (some refer to this quadrant of the bracket the "Kentucky quadrant"). This will be the first time I've covered both of these teams this season...
