Dear Readers~


On March 17, 2023 USC and TCU played against each other in the Surf and Turf Invitational taking place in Miami, Florida. With TCU being ranked #1 and USC being ranked #2 as well as both teams being undefeated, it was going to be a tough game. USC was 10-0 going into the game while TCU was 12-0 going into the game which means whichever team loses, gets their first loss of the season. Now let's begin.

The first game to finish were the 2s which had Sutton MacTavish and Ana Vergara of TCU against Audrey and Nicole Nourse of USC. The first set ended 21-17 with TCU taking that set. The second set ended 21-16 with TCU also taking that set and winning the game.

The next game to finish were the 4s which had Anhelina Khmil and Kate Privett of TCU against Olivia Bakos and Bailey Showalter of USC. The first set ended 21-16 in favor of TCU. The second set ended at 21-19 with TCU also taking that set and winning the second game.

The next game to finish were the 3s which had Maria Gonzales and Hailey hamlett of TCU against Delaynie Maple and Gabby Walker of USC. The first set ended 21-14 in favor of USC. The second set ended 21-17 also in favor of USC. TCU has now won 2 games while USC has won one.

The next game to finish were the 1s which had Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno of TCU against Madison Sheilds and Madison White of USC. The first set ended 21-11 in favor of TCU. The second set also ended 21-11 in favor of TCU.

By winning 3 of the games, TCU beats USC but let's see how the 5s did. The 5s had Hailey Brockett and Rochelle Scott of TCU against Delaney Karl and Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope of USC. The first set ended at 21-18 in favor of USC. The second set ended 21-16 in favor of TCU and causing the only third set between the two during this match up. The third set ended at 15-10 in favor of TCU. In the end, TCU beats USC 4 games to 1 and also hands USC it's first loss of the season.

This was the first and only time during the regular 2023 season USC and TCU play each other. USC will have their next game on Friday, March 31st at 8:30AM Pacific Time in Manhattan Beach, California against Florida International. TCU will have their next game on Friday, March 31st at 9 AM Central Time in Jacksonville, Florida against pepperdine. Until next time, Miller out

 Dear Reader~    It's finally here! As you may be able to tell by the title, the 2025 AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) Beach Volleyball season has been announced. For those who aren't familiar with me, I attend the one in Manhattan Beach, California, known as the Manhattan Beach Open or MBO for short, every year and have made a few friends over the years out of some of the players. A few include Travis Mewhirter, Molly Turner, Maddie Anderson, and Melissa Powell. I have gone to the MBO every year since 2021 and I also attended it in 2019. This year I will be attending that same event again so stay tuned for the blog covering that tournament later in the year along with other AVP events this 2025 season.     This year the AVP has 4 Contender events, 2 Heritage events, and 9 League events. #1 USC vs #3 UCLA 2-22-2025 BVB

 Dear Readers~     The 2025 NCAA Division 1 Beach Volleyball season has begun! The first game to be covered will be #1 USC (University of Southern California) taking on #3 UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic that took place from Thursday February 20th to Saturday February 22nd in Honolulu, Hawaii. The event itself is named after Olympian Duke Kahanamoku (1890-1968) who is from Hawaii and competed in the 1912 Stockholm, 1920 Antwerp, and 1924 Paris summer Olympics as a swimmer and is known as the 'Father of Surfing'. AVP Palm Beach 2025: Men's Tournament

Dear Readers~     Welcome back as I cover the men's side of the 2025 AVP Palm Beach league event that took place in Palm Beach, Florida on May 23rd and May 24th at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. Just like all of the league events this AVP season, this tournament only lasted two days and had no technical semifinals or finals so all of the men's results will be here.     Let's explain a little about how this season works, with it being so new I'm still learning so I'll do my best to explain what I know as of the writing of this.  The way the league works is that there are 8 teams total. There are 4 teams at each city the AVP stops at and the teams change cities so each city doesn't have the same four teams playing each time. This one in Palm Beach has the Dallas Dream, San Diego Smash, Brooklyn Blaze, and Palm Beach Passion while the next city, San Diego, will have the a few of these teams mixed with a few new ones.
