Dear Readers~
From March 17th to March 19th the AVP had their first stop of the 2023 AVP season down in Miami, Florida. This blog will cover athletes from the women's tournament while the next blog will cover athletes from the men's tournament. The two teams I've chosen from the women's side are #3 ranked Betsi Flint with Julia Scoles and #1 ranked Melissa Humana-Paredes with Brandie Wilkerson. Now let's see how the two teams did in Miami.

The first set ended 21-12 and the second set ended 21-12 as well with Betsi and Julia winning both sets and moving on to their second game. Their second game was against #6 Carly Kan and Jennifer Keddy. The first set ended 21-14 and the second set ended 21-13 with Betsi and Julia winning both and moving on to their next game. Their third game was against #2 Terese Cannon and Sarah Sponcil. The first set ended 21-19 with Terese and Sarah taking that set. The second set ended 21-16 with Betsi and Julia taking that set and causing a third set. The third set ended at 15-13 with Sarah and Terese winning that set and giving Betsi and Julia their first loss of the tournament. Their fourth game was against #9 Brook Bauer and Katie Horton. The first set ended 21-12 and the second set ended 21-18 with Betsi and Julia taking both sets and moving on to their next game, which is the semifinals against #5 Maestrini Lili Maestrini Larissa so stay tuned for that coverage in a later blog.

The first set ended 21-15 and the second set ended 21-15 as well with Melissa and Brandie winning both sets and moving on to their second game. The second set ended at 22-20 with Melissa and Brandie getting their revenge and causing a third set. The third set ended 15-11 with Melissa and Brandie winning and moving on to their third game. Their third game was against #5 Maestrini Larissa and Maestrini Lili.
