#24 Tennessee @ #1 Wisconsin 9-3-2023 WVB

Dear Readers~

        Welcome back everyone! It's time for another blog. This one covers #24 Tennessee leaving Knoxville for Madison, Wisconsin to face off against the #1 team, Wisconsin. The game was held on Sunday, September 3, 2023 and as previously mentioned, held in Madison Wisconsin, which is also Wisconsin's first home game of the 2023 season as well as Tennessee's second away game of the sason. Going into the game, Tennesse's record was 5-0 while Wiscon's record was 4-0. Which team do you think will win and give their opponent their first loss of the season? Will it be the away team of Tennessee or the home team of Wisconsin? Let's get into the game and find out.

    The first set ended at 25-16 with Wisconsin taking that set. The second set ended at 25-23 with Wisconsin taking that set. The third set ended at 25-18 with Tennessee taking that set. The fourth set ended at 25-20 with Tennessee taking that set and causing a fifth set to happen. The fifth and final set ended at 15-13 with Wisconsin taking that set and giving Tennessee their first loss of the 2023 season.

    Time for a summary of some of the stats. The leaders in kills goes to Wisconsin's Sarah Franklin with 23 while Morgahn Fingall led Tennessee with 22. The leader in aces goes to Tennessee's Yelianiz Torres with 4, Morgahn Fingall had 3, and Sydney Jaynes had 2 while Wiscon's athletes all had 1 or no aces. The leader in blocks goes to Wiscon's Carter Booth with 8 while Keondreya Granberry lead Tennessee with 4. The leaders in assists goes to Tennessee's Caroline Kerr with an impressive 55 while Izzy Ashburn led Wisconsin with 31. The leaders in digs goes to Tennessee's Yelianiz Torres with 16 while Julia Orzol led Wisconsin with 13.

 Dear Reader~    It's finally here! As you may be able to tell by the title, the 2025 AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) Beach Volleyball season has been announced. For those who aren't familiar with me, I attend the one in Manhattan Beach, California, known as the Manhattan Beach Open or MBO for short, every year and have made a few friends over the years out of some of the players. #1 USC vs #3 UCLA 2-22-2025 BVB

 Dear Readers~     The 2025 NCAA Division 1 Beach Volleyball season has begun! The first game to be covered will be #1 USC (University of Southern California) taking on #3 UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic that took place from Thursday February 20th to Saturday February 22nd in Honolulu, Hawaii. The event itself is named after Olympian Duke Kahanamoku (1890-1968) who is from Hawaii and competed in the 1912 Stockholm, 1920 Antwerp, and 1924 Paris summer Olympics as a swimmer and is known as the 'Father of Surfing'. AVP Palm Beach 2025: Men's Tournament

Dear Readers~     Welcome back as I cover the men's side of the 2025 AVP Palm Beach league event that took place in Palm Beach, Florida on May 23rd and May 24th at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. Just like all of the league events this AVP season, this tournament only lasted two days and had no technical semifinals or finals so all of the men's results will be here.     Let's explain a little about how this season works, with it being so new I'm still learning so I'll do my best to explain what I know as of the writing of this.  The way the league works is that there are 8 teams total. There are 4 teams at each city the AVP stops at and the teams change cities so each city doesn't have the same four teams playing each time. This one in Palm Beach has the Dallas Dream, San Diego Smash, Brooklyn Blaze, and Palm Beach Passion while the next city, San Diego, will have the a few of these teams mixed with a few new ones.
