Texas A&M @ Florida 9-27-2023 WVB

Dear Readers~

Welcome back to another blog covering NCAA Women's Indoor volleyball. My latest blog covered the game between Kentucky and Tennessee so don't forget to check that out after this one. This blog will cover the game between #4 Florida and an unranked Texas A&M that took place on September 27, 2023 in Gainsville, Florida, home to the Florida Gators. Going into the game, Texas A&M was 9-3 while Florida was 10-1. Will Texas A&M have 10 wins for the season like Florida and give Florida their second loss of the season, with #1 Wisconsin being the only team to do so thus far this season, or will Florida win their 11th game of the season and remain in the top 5 of Division 1 for another week? Keep reading to find out.

Let's see how the game went. The first set ended at 26-24 in favor of Florida. The second set ended just as close at 25-23 in favor of Texas A&M. The Third set had the biggest gap with that set ending at 25-21 in favor of Florida. After the third set, Florida only needed one more set to win so Texas A&M stepped up their game by winning the fourth set 26-24 and causing a fifth set. The fifth set was just as close as the previous four by ended at 15-13 in favor of Texas A&M. The conclusion gave Texas A&M their 10th win of the season and gave Florida their second loss of the season as well as their second loss at home in Gainsville.

Now for some highlights of the game starting with kills. The leader in Kills goes to A&M's Logan Lednicky with 22 while Florida was led by Kennedy Martin with 16. The leader in Aces goes to A&M's Ava Underwood and Margot Manning as well as Florida's Trinity Adams who all had 3 aces each. The second highest number of aces goes to Florida's Kennedy Muff and Elli McKissock, each with 2. The leader in Blocks goes to A&M's Ifenna Cos-Okpalla, with 7, while Anna Dixon led Florida with 6. The leader in Assists goes to Florida's Kennedy Muff, with an impressive 42, while A&M was led by Nisa Buzlutepe, with 28, and Margot Manning, with 21. The leader in Digs is shared once again between the two schools. Florida's Elli McKissock and A&M's Caroline Meuth each had 19 digs of their own. The second highest was A&M's Ava Underwood who had 16 digs of her own.

Here is the gameday post A&M put on their Instagram for the big game. Don't forget to give them a follow to keep up with the rest of their 2023 season: @aggievolleyball

The NCAA made this post on their Instagram page after the game. Florida didn't have a game day post on their page but that's no reason not to follow them to keep up with their 2023 season: @gatorsvb and also don't forget to follow the NCAA to see what other teams are doing: @ncaavolleyball

That concludes the game between Florida and Texas A&M that took place in Gainsville, Florida. A& M will have their next game be on October 13th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as they take on LSU at 8pm CST at the Marvich Assembly Center.
