Texas @ Kansas State 11-8-2023 WVB

Dear Readers~

This blog covers the game between Texas and Kansas State that happened in Manhattan, Kansas. The game took place at Kansas State's Morgan Family Arena on Wednesday, November 8th at 6:30pm. Going into the game, Texas was 18-3 along with a 13-game win streak coming off of back-to-back wins against West Virginia while Kansas State was sitting at 13-10 after coming off of back-to-back losses to Kansas. As for only their conference, Texas is undefeated at 13-0 while Kansas State is sitting at 7-7. Will a #3 Texas keep its undefeated streak in the Big 12 and move its overall win streak to 14 in a row or will an unranked Kansas State go from 13-10 to 14-10 overall as well as 8-7 in their conference by taking down the #3 ranked Texas? Let's find out!

Starting off with Kills we have Kansas State's Aliyah Carter getting 20 while Texas' Madison Skinner led her team with 14. As for Aces, we have Texas' Carissa Barnes with 2 while Asjia O'Neal and Madisen Skinner each had one while Liz Gregorski, Sydney Bolding, and Izzi Szulczewski all had one ace each for Kansas State. The leader in Blocks was a tie between Texas' Bella Bergmark and Kansas State's Sydney Bolding, with 3 blocks each while Texas' Molly Phillips and Asjia O'Neal along with Kansas State's Liz Gregorski and Izzi Szulczewski all had 2 blocks each for their teams. As for Assists, the leader was Kansas State's Izzi Szulczewski, with 31, while Texas was led by Ella Swindle, with 25. The next highest is yet another tie between the two teams with Texas' Emma Halter and Kansas State's Mackenzie Morris each having 7 assists of their own. As for digs, the leader was Kansas State's Mackenzie Morris, with 20, while Texas was led by Emma Halter, with 11.

Now it's time for the score of each set. The first set ended at 25-22 in favor of Kansas State. The second set ended just the same as the first at 25-22 in favor of Kansas State yet again. Texas really didn't want to lose three sets in a row and the game so they tried their best and, in the end, the third set ended at 25-21 in favor of Kansas State yet again with the game ending 3 sets in favor of Kansas State while Texas won none. In the end, Kansas State dominated the three-set game between the two teams. Kansas led in Points, 55-54, Kills, 45-44, Assists, 43-40, and in Digs, 53-35, while they tied with 5 Blocks and 5 Aces each. That ends Texas' undefeated run in the Big 12 this season as well as their 13-game win streak.
