Wisconsin vs Texas 12-14-2023 WVB Semifinal #2

Welcome back! It's time to cover the second semifinal game and this time it's Texas taking on Wisconsin. This game took place on December 14th at 8:30pm CT in Tampa, Florida at the Amalie Arena. Going into the game, Texas was 26-4 after beating Stanford to make it into the semifinals while Wisconsin was sitting at 30-3 after their win against Oregon. Now let's see which team makes it to the National Finals.
Starting off with the game leaders, we have the Kills. The leader in Kills goes to Texas' Madisen Skinner, with 18, While Wisconsin's Sarah Franklin and Anna Smrek led their team with 13. For Aces, Wisconsin's Izzy Ashburn, Joslyn Boyer, and Caroline Crawford all had 1 ace each. As for Texas, they were led by Madisen Skinner, with 6, followed by Asjia O'Neal and Emma Halter, each with 2. The leader in Blocks goes to Wisconsin's Caroline Crawford, with 7, while both Texas' Asjia O'Neal and Wisconsin's Devyn Robinson and Anna Smrek each had 4 blocks of their own. The leader in Assists goes to Texas' Ella Swindle, with 46, while Wisconsin was led by MJ Hammill, with 19, and Izzy Ashburn, with 12. The leader in Digs goes to Texas' Emma Halter, with 19, while Wisconsin was led by Gulce Guctekin, with 13.
Now time to see how the game went. The first set ended the closest at 25-22 in favor of Texas. The second set ended just as close at 25-20 in favor of Wisconsin. The third set had the biggest gap in the score at 25-13 in favor of Texas. The fourth set was closer but still not as close as the first two as it ended at 25-16 in favor of Texas and giving Texas the win with 3 sets over Wisconsin's 1 set. Texas led the game in points, 74-56, kills, 57-42, aces, 11-4, assists, 55-40, and digs 56-44, while Wisconsin led in blocks, 10-6.
