Dear Readers~     Welcome back to another game of the 2025 NCAA Division 1 Women's Indoor Volleyball season. This week's game is the crosstown rivalry between #22 USC (University of Southern California) and an unranked UCLA (University of California Los Angeles). This game took place at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles (specifically the Westwood neighborhood). UCLA is coming off of a loss to #13 Purdue and unranked Indiana followed by a win against #14 Minnesota. USC on the other hand is coming off of a loss to Indiana and #13 Purdue as well along with a win against an unranked Oregon. Going into the game, USC has a record of 11-4 while UCLA has a record of 9-6.      For those who have seen my coverage of the NCAA beach games back in the spring and my previous indoor games this fall, I explained the difference between the beach and indoor games. For those who don't know, the way indoor works is you have to win 3 sets, whether it be all 3, or 3 of the 4/5 se...

Utah @ #8 Arizona State 10-4-2025 WVB

Dear Readers~     Welcome to the latest game I'll be covering for the 2025 NCAA Division 1 Women's Indoor Volleyball season. I chose this game specifically because we have Arizona Sate hosting Utah. Going into this game, Arizona State is ranked #8 while Utah is unranked . The rankings aren't why I chose this game. I chose it because going into this game, Arizona state is 5-0 at home. The only other teams undefeated at home are Nebraska and Texas, both of which are currently undefeated for the season as of the writing of this game. Today's game took place in Tempe, Arizona (part of the Phoenix Metro) at Arizona State's Desert Financial Arena. Going into the game, Utah is 8-6 while Arizona State is 11-2. Arizona State's only loses are to Pittsburg in early September and Texas in mid September. Let's get into this game to see if Arizona State can keep their perfect at home record or if Utah will be the first team of the season to give Arizona State a loss in Te...

Dear Readers~     Welcome to the latest game covering the 2025 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Women's Volleyball season. Today's game took place at Rec Hall in State College, Pennsylvania as #15 Penn State hosted an unranked UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). Penn State is coming off of 3 straight wins against schools like USC, Princeton, and Central Michigan while UCLA is coming off of a loss to Stanford and a win to Ohio State. Going into the game, UCLA is sitting at 7-4 while Penn State is sitting at 7-4 as well. This is the only time this season that the two will play each other, so let's get into this game to see who gets to be 8-4 and who becomes 7-5.      For those who have seen my coverage of the NCAA beach games back in the spring, I explained the difference between the beach and indoor games. For those who don't know, the way indoor works is you have to win 3 sets, whether it be all 3, or 3 of the 4/5 sets that are played. As for the scoring, for th...

Dear Readers~     Welcome to another NCAA Division 1 indoor volleyball game. In today's game we have #5 Pittsburg taking on #13 Penn State. For those who don't know, Penn State actually won the national championships last year, so they're working hard to do the same this year. Today's game took place on September 17th at State College, Pennsylvania at Rec Hall, where Penn State plays. Going into the game, Pittsburg is sitting at 7 wins in a row while Penn State is sitting at 2 wins in a row. Pittsburg's last loss was to Florida towards the end of August but will things change during today's game? Let's get started and find out.      For those who have seen my coverage of the NCAA beach games back in the spring, I explained the difference between the beach and indoor games. For those who don't know, the way indoor works is you have to win 3 sets, whether it be all 3, or 3 of the 4/5 sets that are played. As for the scoring, for the beach, it's played ...

AVP Chicago 2025: League Championships

Image
Dear Readers~     I hope you enjoyed the coverage of the 2025 AVP Manhattan Beach Open and enjoyed seeing what all I got to see. Here we are concluding the 2025 AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) season. This week we cover how the women's championships went followed by the men's. The championships were over Labor Day weekend (August 30th and 31st) at Oak Street Beach in Chicago, Illinois. Ever since I started watching the AVP (with the exception of 2020) Labor Day weekend always held the AVP event in Chicago but it lasted Friday, Saturday, and Sunday compared to just Saturday and Sunday of this event. Before we get into the results, let's see the difference between the League and previous seasons.        For those who don't know, the league is a little different than the previous AVP seasons. The biggest differences include the scoring and the number of venues/events they have this season. The way the scoring goes is that each set goes to 15 unle...
