AVP 2025: New York Tournament

Image
Dear Readers~     Welcome back to the next stop of the 2025 AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) League season. Last time we went to the Intuit Dome of Los Angeles, California but this time we go the other side of the country to New York's famous Central Park for stop #6 of this 2025 season. Like all league events this season, this one in New York lasted for two days and took place on July 19th and 20th. The men's and Women's will both be combined in this one but if you'd rather see them separated, let me know. With four games on each day (two for each gender), let's get started to see who comes out on top.      For those who don't know, the league is a little different than the previous AVP seasons. The biggest differences include the scoring and the number of venues/events they have this season. The way the scoring goes is that each set goes to 15 unless the two teams get to 15 and neither has a lead of two points or more meanwhile the previous ...

AVP 2025: Los Angeles Tournament

Dear Readers~     Welcome to stop #5 of the 2025 AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) League season as we head to Los Angeles, California and their Intuit Dome (home of the Clippers from the NBA if that arena sounds familiar) for today's stop. This stop took place on July 11th and 12th and features the LA Launch, San Diego Smash, Palm Beach Passion, and Miami Mayhem if any of those teams interest you. This will include both the men's and women's games from Los Angeles instead of just one or the other.     For those who don't know, the league is a little different than the previous AVP seasons. The biggest differences include the scoring and the number of venues/events they have this season. The way the scoring goes is that each set goes to 15 unless the two teams get to 15 and neither has a lead of two points or more meanwhile the previous years had the first two sets play to 21 and only the third set went to 15 but they did still have the lead of two points...

AVP 2025: East Hampton, New York Tournament

Dear Readers~       Welcome to the next tournament of the 2025 AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) League season. This is stop #4 that took place in East Hampton, New York, which is on the eastern end of Long Island in New York State. The venue they used was the East Hampton Marina and Resort while for the San Diego stop they used a facility at San Diego State and the next stop in Los Angeles will be in the Intuit Dome. This stop in East Hampton lasted for two days, like the other League stops, and took place on June 21st and 22nd. I will be combining both men's and women's into this blog since they only had two games each day for each gender, meaning that they only had eight games during both days of play.  If you'd rather see them split into men's and women's or if you like them combined like this, let me know and without further ado, let's explain the difference between the League and previous AVP seasons.     In previous seasons, the AVP stops...

AVP 2025: Miami Tournament

Dear Readers~     Welcome to city #4 of the 2025 AVP (Association of Volleyball Professional) season that took place in Miami, Florida at the Wayfair Arena. This is the third stop of the League after Palm Beach, Florida and San Diego, California. With the AVP League only lasting two days (June 13th and 14th) and having four games each day, there were no technical finals or semifinals. Each gender got two games on each day. I have decided to start combining both genders so that means that ech stop/city will only get one blog. If you like the previous way of splitting it up by gender or having them combined, let me know.      Let's start by explaining the difference between the AVP in previous years compared to the League they've started with this season. With it being so new, I'm still learning more with each stop, like others. In previous AVP seasons, there would be a double elimination bracket for each gender, this year, the Manhattan Beach tournament (which wi...

Dear Readers~     Welcome to the men's side of the 2025 AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) San Diego stop that took place on June 6th and 7th in San Diego, California at San Diego State University's Viejas Arena. With the league not having any technical finals or semifinals (due to only having two games for each gender each day, I'll be covering all four of the men's games in this blog after covering all four of the women's games in last week's blog, so be sure to look into that if you're curious.      Let's start by explaining the difference between the AVP in previous years compared to the League they've started with this season. With it being so new, I'm still learning more with each stop, like others. In previous AVP seasons, there would be a double elimination bracket for each gender, this year, the Manhattan Beach tournament in August is the only one to have this, as of now anyways. The league will take place at 8 cities this sea...
